Keynote: Father John Rausch

Fr. John, a Catholic priest with the Glenmary Home Missioners serving small towns in Appalachia and the South and living in Stanton, Kentucky, coordinates a Ministry of Appalachian Justice Education. Fr. John was named the recipient of the 2007 “Teacher of Peace” award presented by Pax Christi, U.S.A.
The Conference begins with evening prayer at 5:15 Monday evening, January 7, followed by dinner and a short evening session. The keynote and three additional sessions follow on Tuesday, January 8. 
Keynote: Father John Rausch, Preaching the parables from a socioeconomic standpoint

  • Preaching the parables to military families – Fr. Mark Mastin, SCJ
  • How to prepare a homily on the parables for a Latino congregation – Bishop Jim Schuerman
  • Preaching the parables in everyday life – Deacons Jim Banach and Steve Kramer

Any of the conference participants still in town are invited to Mass and breakfast on Wednesday, January 9.

$125 registration fee includes conference, materials, and meals. If you are a priest/deacon from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, this fee can be covered by your continuing education fund.

Lodging: There are a limited number of rooms available (free will offering) at Sacred Heart Seminary on a first-come, first-served basis, otherwise lodging is available at the Hampton Inn for a special rate of $99. Please check back to this website for a link to the Hampton and directions on how to receive this special rate prior to December 6.
