Two seminarians admitted to candidacy for holy orders

Nelson Jésus Rubio Villalobos (left), a seminarian for the Diocese of Little Rock, and John Gonzales, Diocese of Tucson, were admitted to candidacy for holy orders on Nov 9. The Most Rev. Gerald Kicanas, bishop of Tucson, presided at the all-seminary rite. Admission to candidacy is a significant milestone prior to ordination to the transitional diaconate, and at Sacred Heart marks the point in each seminarian’s formation path when he starts to wear the Roman collar.
