SHST Assistant Professor Fr. Scott Jones, SDS, will present a talk entitled “The Life and Legacy of Pope John XXIII,” on June 3.
Fr. Jones is giving the talk as part of the Year of Faith events in connection with the 50th anniversary of Vatican II. His talk also commemorates the 50th anniversary of the death of Pope John XXIII on June 3, 1963.
The presentation is set for 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 812 N. Jackson St., Milwaukee. The talk is free and open to the public.
Fr. Jones, a popular lecturer in Church History at Sacred Heart, completed his own seminary studies at the Franciscan School of Theology in Berkeley, Calif. He holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Arkansas and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the University of Saint Mary of the Lake at Mundelein, Ill.
