Eleven seminarians make deacon promises

Eleven seminarians made their deacon promises before the entire Sacred Heart School of Theology community on May 1.

In seminary formation, deacon promises are an important rite leading up to ordination to the diaconate. The milestone marks the point at which Sacred Heart seminarians begin to wear the Roman collar.

Making their promises were: Robert Ballman, a seminarian for the Diocese of Memphis; Anthony Budnick, of the Diocese of Knoxville; Robert Cloos, Diocese of Davenport; Taj Glodd, Diocese of Lafayette; Moisés Leal González, Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon; Patrick Neufeld, Archdiocese of Winnipeg; George Noel, Diocese of Crookston; David Michael Orsak, Diocese of Memphis; Julio César Torres Montejo, Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon; Kelly Wilson, Archdiocese of Winnipeg; and José Cruz Zapata Torres, Diocese of Memphis.
