Sacred Heart School of Theology is hosting a Lenten series for lay people on the history and impact of the Second Vatican Council, in recognition of the Year of Faith declared by Pope Benedict XVI.
The Thursday evening sessions will be facilitated by Fr. Scott Jones, SDS, Ph.D., assistant professor of church history at Sacred Heart. The five-session series starts Feb. 14. Each session will include a 50 minute video from the series "The Faithful Revolution: Vatican II," followed by group discussion.
Says Fr. Jones, “During this Year of Faith, we are encouraged to reflect on Vatican II. This series will give participants the opportunity to learn more about the Council, a defining point in recent church history.”
The sessions, which are free and open to the public, will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Participants must pre-register by contacting Fr. Jones at 414-758-1417, or email@example.com.
